An installation by Chris Ireland. Dissolution/Disillusion explores the graphic imposition of form onto the formlessness of the fluid state through human culture. It juxtaposes the pre-literate imagery of fluids, as sacred and essential to life, with the scientific construction of liquid molecules and their mathematical behaviour. It attempts to create a space in which the body-centred and intellectually based interpretations of liquids can be unified as part of an encompassing whole. |
