Description |
"Rik Rue has used the tape recorder as an instrument since 1982 to combine his love of environmental sounds and world musics with his interest in improvisation and his desire to document and re-arrange sounds.
In this installation, Rue used close-perspective digital recordings made during 1990-91 at various reef ledges around Sydney Harbour as the source for the work. The water flows, ebbs and lappings are remixed and distributed around 4 speakers, giving an impression of fluidity to the confined space." |
