Description "Portraits of young men of mixed blood. Ten large photographic prints unframed, hung vertically, icon like, in a darkened space. Multiple frames with the sprocket holes invisible, suggesting sections of discarded transparency film, scratched, torn, wrongly exposed, incorrectly processed. Through loudspeakers intermittent fragments of interviews, describing the experiences of "looking different", racially speaking.
"Faces which display an ambiguity of facial origin, as in the case of people of mixed racial ancestry, have the power to create within us a deep disquiet. These faces can confuse us because they defy our preconceived notions about "racial characteristics". They also disturb because they challenge conventional notions of physical beauty."
