Description |
"Five 2 metre weather balloons are connected to five plastic organ pipes. The pipes are hung from the ceiling where they can swing freely. Escaping air creates a chord as it passes through the pipes. A continuous but subtly changing field of sound is produced which depends heavily on the changing position of the observer/listener for its temporal structure. The audience is directed to walk among the pipes and balloons until all the air has escaped.
Vital Organ was first performed in 1987 at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art in Melbourne." |
