Description Excursus was the NSW component of a national contemporary art spaces project. Five artists were commissioned to challenge the traditional presentational modes of contemporary art.

Virginia Hilyard, 'Jet Rite', was an water installation and video work at/next to Carroll's Hardware.
Jeff Gibson, 'Beware the False Profits' was a series of four posters presented in 20 inner city and suburban train stations.
Joy Hinterding's 'A Legacy of the 1/4 Acre Subdivision', was an installation along the Cahill Expressway.
Rik Rue presented is soundscape via radio - 2MBS.
