| Description |
The Greeks are ready to march against Troy. The air is still and the ships cannot move. Agamemnon, Commander-in-Chief of the Greek army, asks the gods for a fair wind. The Prophet, Kalhas, emphasises that the gods will send a wind only if Agamemnon will sacrifice his daughter, Iphigenia, to them. |
