Dance Hall explores the collective movement of people within Waterside Workers Hall, from teh standpoint that everything that has happened within this space is a choreography. Dance halls are sites of participatory performance, evoking a sense of magic where the reality of daily life can be momentarily suspended for fancy-free good times. Together, Parachutes for Ladies are exploring the accumulated choregoraphy and sense of collective utopia associated with dance halls. |
