| Description | Pacific Awake is an attempt by three groups of young actors (one Pakeha, one Polynesian, one Maori) to take a broad look at where New Zealand is going. Each group presents their play individually. Five actors in Town & Country Players performed a fast-paced 'Near ANZUS benefit concert' covering patriotism, racism, politicians, sexism, sex education and the New Zealand bourgeoisie allcame in fro treatment which night have been satirical if it hadn't been so blatant and so angry. Taotahi dealt with the Immigration Act. Te Ohu Whakaari made a presentation in which each stylised scene prsented a tableau of some aspect of Maori life or history. | |
