| Description |
He is staging his plays in a manner approximating to the Elizabethan with only such modifications as may be necessary to hold the attention and assist the imagination of a popular modern audience. Although it will be necessary in most cases to present the plays with certain abbreviations, a much fuller version of them will be given than is customary upon the modern stage, and abbreviations apart, there will be no alteration of Shakespeare's text. |
