| Description |
Auto da Fe Theatre Company presented A Place With The Pigs, a play by Athol Fugard that was inspired by the true story of Pavel Navrotsky, a deserter from the Soviet army who spent 41 years hiding in a pig sty. The performance explored this story through notions of alienation and exile with lighting, sound and performance.
Reviewer's Opinion: "South African playwright Athol Fugard sets this parable - based in fact - in a pigsty where a Soviet World War II deserter, Pavel, is being hidden by his wife Praskovya". |
