A new symphonic work, entitled "Temasekian" has been commissioned from Leong Yoon Pin for the occasion to be premiered on the first night of the Festival. Two of the most distinguished musicians from Singapore, Yitkin Seow and Lee Pan Hon will be playing together for the first time. The piece that they have chosen is Mendelssohn's Concerto for Violin, Piano and String Orchestra. To round off the evening, the programme concludes with Beethoven's Symphony No. 5. |
