Description The story is based on Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet' and inspired by Buster Keaton's 1921 film, 'The Backyard'. Set in the '20's, Verona is a mixture of vaudeville, breathtaking acrobatics and slapstick set to music.

"Verona is a part of an international revival in interest in Romeo and Juliet. This production is not a classical interpretation of the play. It is, however, honest to Shakespeare's intentions. It is physical theatre that crosses the boundaries of language and time. It remains true, in this new form. to the mysticality of the essential story. Verona move Romeo and Juliet into a new context, still retaining the core themes of great love and great tragedy."
Adapted from the notes of Rosemary Fitzgerald March 10 1995.
