Description "The Removalists is about the subterranean violence and aggression in Australian society and the confrontations between the sexes which all too often pass for human relationships. The abuse of power (in this case in everyday law enforcement) is the major subject of the play but social and economic tensions and resentments of many kinds are examined.

"A dentist's wife from North Balwyn named Kate and her sister Fiona, who has married a blue-collar worker and lives in Fitzroy, walk into a sub-branch of the Fitzroy police station and report that Fiona's husband has assaulted her. The sergeant on duty, seeing an opportunity for practical intervention and sexual adventure, offers to help Fiona move her furniture out of the house in Fitzroy and into the flat her sister has found for her in South Yarra. The clash between Fiona's husband Kenny, and the policemen who arrive at his front door with a removalist, forms the main action of the play."
