| Description |
Based on Thomas Keneally's novel The Playmaker, set in Australia 1879, a young marine lieutenant is directing rehearsals for Recruiting Officer, the first play ever to be staged in this country. His production is handicapped by having only two copies of text and a cast of oppressed convicts including thieves. |
