Myra is dying but life must go on. There's the heating to be fixed, cats to be fed and the perfect funeral to be planned. As a mother researches burial spots and bio-degradable coffins, her family is forced to communicate with her, and each other, as they face up to the one certainty in their future.
This gentle and funny play is astonishing in it's insight into death and family. The young English playwright Laura Wade has written a work that creeps up on you, showing how death has a way of making the minutia of life deeply meaningful. |
