Performed in 'Hindustanee' language with a 'descriptive programme in English.' A thin audience composed mainly of women and children, including many Caucasians. Afghan audience seated to the right, others to the left. 'The Company are composed of Indians [Afghans] born and educated in India, and therefore British subjects.' The programme ended with a farce, The Fancy Dress Ball, in which 'oriental costumes' featured. Music for the pantomime played by Afghan pipes and drums; Hansen's String Band played at interval. |
