| Description |
Beneath the glow of a sophisticated video tracking system, a lone organic being mutates in and out of human form into unfamiliar, sensual and grotesque creature states. This work by leading Victorian contemporary dance company Chunky Move is one of the boldest attempts at redifining the possibilities of contemporary dance. Interactive video technologies generate a digital landscape in real time that responds to the dancer's movement making no two performances the same. Set to Luke Smile's hauntingly visceral soundscape, director Gideon Obarzanek's choreography seamlessly combines the moving body with the tracking light and technological ingenuity of Frieder Weiss. Coming to India after touring the UK, Mexico, Germany, Spain, Taiwan and the Netherlands, Glow will feature at Attakkalari India Biennial where Obarzanek will work with emerging choreographers from around the world as they create new dance works as part of Attakkalari's FACETS Choreography Residency.
