Original Correspondence. Theatre |
Abstract/Description |
It is there stated (after a long tirade against "Tom and Jerry," without any meaning) that Mr. Winters, who performed the part of Jemmy Green, made
use of some indecent term or other which the Gazette veils under the sign of "b-." Now, the Public may construe this into an expression of the most infamous description. We have only to observe that we were either on the stage with Mr. Winters, or on the wings close at hand, and we plainly heard the expression made use of by that gentleman, and we certify that the following was that expression-- namely, " Laux vot a hugly old vitch." |
