Notes John Joseph Jones was born in London in 1930 of Welsh/Irish parents. His cousin was Dylan Thomas. In 1948, Joseph Jones immigrated to Australia, where he worked in various trades and professions. He later trained to become a teacher, and also worked as a lecturer, editor, archivist and research officer. His literary output was tremendous. He wrote poems, plays, lyrics, composed music, published books, but his most well-known work was in establishment of the open air theatre, Parkerville Amphitheatre in Perth. W.A.
