Winner of the 1980 new dramatists Playbill award, this play examines one of the most socially explosive murder cases of the 20th century - when two sisters working as maids in Le Mans, France, in the 1930's murdered their employees in a most savage fashion, Jean Genet's "The Maids" was base on this event. |
