BEAUTIFUL WORDS was written over a four-year period, beginning in early 2001. Inspired by Australia's immigration debate, the growing conflict between east and west, and the mandatory detention laws enforced in Australia at the time, the work is (and continues to be) dramatized social documentation for young audiences and their families. |
