| Description |
The dozen scenes of the play are full of resonating rhetoric and entertaining imitations of Shakespeare and Webster as it traces out with a jejune feeling for tragedy, the career of one of the Tornani who espoused democratic principles in 13th century Milan and sought to throw off the yoke of a tyrant emperor and a tyrant Pope. |
