| Description |
Sir Frederick Ashton was a choreographer of sophisticated, elegant and witty dances that reflected the English ideal of the time. So much so that he is noted as being the main architect of English ballet style, and one of the most influential classical choreographers of the 20th century. The success of the Royal Ballet's Ashton/Petipa repertory influenced the early years of this company. A period examined in this talk. Also part of a series of informative talks for ballet audiences, relating to current ballet - La Fille mal grade. |
