| Description |
First written in French in 1948, Waiting for Godot helped redefine and change the very nature of theatre itself. Alone on a country roadside next to an empty tree, Estragon and Vladimir, two seemingly homeless men, wait for someone - or something - named Godot as they inhabit a drama spun from their own consciousness. The result is a comical wordplay of poetry, dreamscapes and nonsense, which is often interpreted as a summation of mankind's inexhaustible search for meaning. |
