Description A special Playbox double bill - with the Bicentennial year clearly in mind - of two very different monodramas, both staged on the same ingenious Trina Parker set, both dealing to some extent with indigeneity. Steal Away Home is about a petty thief whose world is thrown into confusion when a chance encounter leads him to question his parentage and reveals his hidden aboriginal forebears. The Serpent's Fall weaves the image of the snake, once the emblem of feminine power, through the lives and mythologies of four contemporary Australian women.
